Meet Customer Service Superstar Lou McCann

This month we put the spotlight on Louvena “Lou” McCann, who recently celebrated 21 years with Ferno.


Q: You’ve worked in several areas of the company, correct?

A: Yes. I was hired to work in manufacturing, cleaning and boxing product. Then I started to take computer classes. At that point I moved into the customer service department, doing jobs like filing and invoices. Not long after that I moved into the role of customer service rep. Currently I am working more with special accounts and products.


Q: What’s a typical day for you?

A: A little bit of everything! It’s hard to list everything, but many of the things that I do on a day-to-day basis include standard customer service processes such as order entry, product availability, pricing, and supplying freight and/or product quotes for customers. In addition, I am responsible for questions and orders concerning Cot Care® program and parts, as well as custom graphic/monogram orders. I work closely with these customers, Sales reps, and some vendors.


Q: What do you like best about your job at Ferno?

A: I like helping people. I enjoy doing research and getting answers. I really like the detail work. And Ferno has been a good company to work for.


Q: How do you enjoy spending your free time?

A: I have four grandchildren: a set of twin boys (11 months old), and two granddaughters (9 and 11 years old). I enjoy spending time with them, my son, and my daughter. I enjoy arts and crafts and just creating. Especially sewing or painting.
